Mr. Rohit Shetty is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon specialising in complex spinal surgery.
He works as a Consultant Spinal Surgeon at the Whittington Hospital in North London (NHS), having until recently split his time between the Whittington and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in Queen Square, London, where he led the adult deformity service.
He graduated from Manipal University in India in 1995 where he also took his masters in (and won the Gold Medal for) Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery in 1997, before obtaining his Diplomate of National Board in Trauma and Orthopaedics from the National Board of Examinations in 1999.
He undertook specialist trauma and orthopaedic surgical training within the South East Thames (Guys and St Thomas') rotation in London from 2002. During this period, he also completed a Diploma in Trauma and Orthopaedics from the University of Brighton, where he was awarded a distinction for Best Outgoing Student in 2006. He gained his FRCS from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2007.
He is fellowship trained in all aspects of spinal surgery, having completed two UK fellowships (at the Royal Berkshire in Reading and the Centre for Spinal Studies and Surgery, Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham) and one international fellowship (at Inselspital in Bern and the Swiss Olympic Medical Centre at the Schulthess Klinik in Zurich, Switzerland).
